This is a public records request pursuant to R.C. 149.43. Please promptly provide electronic copies of the records requested below to this email address: firstname.lastname@example.org All records are requested in a digital format (e.g., PDF).
- Any record showing the terms, phrases, or words that are blocked or subject to page moderation on the City’s Facebook page as of the date written above. This request includes any .CSV file uploaded to Facebook and any words or phrases entered manually into the Facebook Page’s settings under the page moderation menu. For your reference, a screen capture of the Page Moderation menu within Facebook’s page settings is provided attached as Attachment 1.
- A record showing the current setting of the Profanity Filter on the City’s Facebook page as of the date written above. For your reference, a screen capture of the Profanity Filter within Facebook’s page settings is attached as Attachment 2.
As you know, R.C. 149.011(G) defines a “record” as any item that contains information stored on a fixed medium; is created, received, or sent under the jurisdiction of a public office; and documents the organization, functions, policies, decisions, procedures, operations or other activities of the office. Obviously, the creation of an official Facebook page that helps you communicate with the public about your policies and decisions is both created by your office and serves to document its functions. Additionally, the records requested herein are stored and accessible on a fixed medium via Facebook’s interface.
For your benefit, both the page moderation menu and the profanity filter menu can be accessed by navigating to “settings” on the top right of your Facebook page. Attachment 3 is a screen shot of where to access settings.
Finally, the page moderation menu and the profanity filter menu located under the general settings tab, which should be the first screen visible to you after clicking on Settings. Attachment 4 is a screen shot of where to locate the page moderation and profanity filter.
